In the year 2000 a demonization of President Joseph E. Estrada was launched by the Inquirer and its empress dowager then, Eggie Apostol. A decade earlier she helped demonize Ferdinand E. Marcos. She’s been in retirement, but something has brought her out from hibernation, starting a new demonization campaign under the aegis of a so-called Foundation for World Wide People Power FWWPP). A long Internet search for FWWPP funding sources could not yield any result, but clearly this foundation has huge money - to promise a series of at least six anti-Erap ads in the coming days and giveaway prices of vintage Pinoy Times black prop issues.

Seeing the clamor for Estrada’s “reprieve”, Apostol claims the public has such a short memory of Estrada’s sins, giving reason for this new anti-Erap black prop . Apostol’s purpose and timing raise many questions: Estrada’s case is in court, so why does Apostol have to resort to a new trial by publicity; all the talk about “pardon” and “amnesty” are coming from Apostol’s allies – Gloria gofers Ronnie Puno, Sergio Apostol, and Joe de Venecia; why is Eggie Apostol’s anti-Erap campaign coming at this time of growing rage over the Edsa Dos cabals monumental ZTE and Cyber Ed scandals. The immediate reaction to Apostol’s ads is this: Is it a deliberate diversion from the scandal to help Gloria?

That Joker Arroyo is with Apostol on the FWWPP board and signed on to the anti-Erap ad is revealing: coming right after the senate executive session incident where he left the door open for Budget Chief Andaya’s to press his hand on the former chief’s shoulders to scare Neri from exposing the more ZTE scandal details that would have led to Gloria Arroyo. “People power” is a shibboleth for Western controlled political coups and members of FWWPP’s board have that pedigree, such as Jose Abueva who’s been an advocate of Cha-cha, globalization, privatization, etc.; likewise, Del Lazaro who accelerated power privatization with FVR. Fely Arroyo is simply Joker’s other half.

This new anti-Erap campaign has emerged because, as the Hitler quote help us see, the Edsa Dos propaganda has been punctured: by Estrada’s obstinate insistence on his innocence and struggle for vindication through the legal system, reinforced by filing the Motion for Reconsideration of the Sandiganbayan’s “conviction” (persecution, more like it), and exposé of the horrendous Gloria Arroyo plunders climaxing in the ZTE scandals. The “glimpse of right on the other (Erap) side” is causing doubt upon the whole demonization of Erap and bringing down the anti-Estrada calumnies, black propaganda, demonization and hard work of Eggie Apostol, her newspaper and her cabal.

Eggie Apostol’s new black propaganda uses the revival of the vintage Ayala funded and backed tabloid Pinoy Times, distributed free ing dutheir Erap-demonization campaign in 2000. Pure tabloid sleaze using Erap photos retouched to look especially ugly, backdropping screaming anti-Erap headlines. It doesn’t argue the issues, simplifies its argument using repulsive images and appeals to crude emotions meant to hit the guttural rather than the intellectual senses. It is the perfect reflection of Terry Eagleton’s quote which Apostol and her black prop spin masters hope will make Inquirer’s readers regress into the blind prejudice Apostol successfully injected years ago.

Like the black propaganda against Marcos, the demonization of Estrada has eroded because Estrada’s conduct in the seven years of persecution has shattered the satanic image Apostol created of him. Now, people see Estrada as essentially an upright man of the old school with his humor and wit, straightforward honesty about his bon vivant ways, but in no way a plunderer in the fashion of the Arroyo kelptocratic couple and their henchmen like Abalos. Marcos has been vindicated mainly in his economic program, such development economics, regulation and public ownership of public utilities, opening ties to socialist countries, the nuclear power plant, among other things.

Erap and Marcos’ vindications come really from the failure of the promises of those who deposed them: the failure of Cory Aquino’s restoration of democracy which was exposed after a decade and a half to be only plutocratic restoration; the massive kleptocracy of FVR and her foreign IPPs in the power sector; the equally rapacious kleptocracy of Gloria’s cabal from Impsa and Nani Perez to Joc Joc’s fertilizer scam and now Abalos’ ZTE, ad nausea. Marcos has gone fromths world but his name is still increasingly being rehabilitated. Estrada will be more fortunate, his complete freedom and vindication may come any day – or at the latest, when his appeal reaches the Supreme Court where strict rules will rein in persecutory tendencies.

Eggie Apostol is desperate, so are Gloria and her henchmen. Now they’re up to worse, the latest is this: Norberto Gonzales has organized FIST, Fast Intelligence Strike Team, under the aegis of the NICA and headed by former Isapf chief Tirso Danga to use PDSP Sandigan “guerillas” faction to conduct “parallel destabilization” and blame it on the opposition. I call them F…king Incompetent Socialist Terrorists, and the AFP conscience bloc is ready for them.
