Crystallize and polarize

DIE HARD III

What we see since the jueteng and “Hello Garci” episodes on the political chess board is zugzwang. Gloria Macapagal-Arroyo is pushed to make very disadvantageous moves. The hopeless situation for Gloria showed in her wooden face at the SONA, a painted queen piece moved by hands towering over her and shuffling her across the chess board, twiddling her between thumb and forefinger during pensive moments. FVR and Joe de Venecia, ears flapping in glee, welcome her ConAss and Cha-cha.

Let’s make it clear: the ConAss and Cha-cha’s ultimate goal is a new “Laurel-Langley”, i.e. foreign ownership of patrimony. It’s not about the presidential, parliamentary or federal systems. These systems don’t matter that much. There are many ways to skin a cat. The Philippine economy started economic take-off during the presidency of Carlos P. Garcia, his Filipino First policy started stirred industrialization of the country. The Philippines was internationally acknowledged then as the best performer in Asia.

Marcos had two terms under the presidential system, he built roads and bridges and won a second term. After the 1971 Constitutional Convention which provided for a President, Prime Minister and a unicameral legislature Marcos steered the country through the heights of the NPA and Muslim secessionist conflict. Under the Interim Batasan Pambansa Marcos had some good years when an IMF-fueled hotel building boom kicked in, but the crash came fast when he pushed the 11-industrial project - the Economic Hit Men Schultz, Wolfowitz and Greenberg targeted him for destruction.

Cory Aquino’s Constitutional Commission led by the like of Bernas restored the presidential system by one vote of Joker Arroyo’s girlfriend. Ramos was with Cory through those years, they are still in power and compelling Gloria on the implementation of the Cha-cha and the parliamentary system. If, as they argue today, the parliamentary system is best for the country, why did they change it to presidential after 1986? All this talk about presidential and parliamentary options is smokescreen for what really matters: Cha-cha to usher in provisions allowing foreign control of physical economic resources.

One must not forget Ramos is the agent of the Global Corporatocracy being with the Carlyle group of Bush Sr., Cheney, et al; while Cory’s their now fallen Santita. These are the true Children of Satan pursuing total control of human lives and nations through control of its resources, creating wars and famines, sacrificing the Third World’s children to their heathen gods of gold, to force countries to submit. This is the true dictatorship trying to dominate the human race and not the defiant nationalist regimes like China, Zimbabwe or even Myanmar that resist this Global Corporatocracy’s power.

How does Ramos get away with wielding so much power when he is the least liked of all past presidents? Only Gloria gets worse reviews from the public. The answer can be found in the backing of the Global Corporatocracy implicit in his moves, and of course that translate to influence among the West Point and other AFP officers controlled by the U.S. For the past ten years they have attempted to force an election of a Constitutional Convention to get the economic protection provisions changed, but the people have resisted this. Now ConAss of the corrupt legislators is the easiest way.

The Laurel-Langley Agreement of 1954 granted Americans the right to own land and exploit natural resources, and it had a life of twenty years. If as they argue foreign ownership of land will help solve the Philippine’s financial and economic crisis, why after Laurel-Langley hasn’t the Philippines become part of the economic dragons phenomenon of the 60’s and 70’s while countries that are not as liberal have taken off as newly industrialized nations. What do make a difference are a country’s capital conservation through controls, economic development and industrialization.

Gloria was doing the Corporatocracy’s bidding but her incompetence surpassed the Corporatocracy’s patience when the real opposition represented by men of conscience such as Bishop Oscar Cruz brought out Arroyo’s jueteng-links and the true supporters of the Constitution, many associated with the struggle of President Joseph E. Estrada and FPJ, succeeded in flushing out the Garci-tapes that exposed the farcical and corrupt character of Philippine elections. Gloria’s fall was made inevitable, hence Ramos, Cory, Bernas et al had to appear as if they were really splitting from Gloria.

The local Establishment has been forced into a zugzwang with Gloria, tactically splitting the “civil society” and creating an “opposition” loyal to the Corporatocracy to steal the thunder from the genuine moral and political opposition forces, and temporarily confusing some of the public and media. The people, however, will see the whole truth eventually. Look, the public has lumped Cory, Ramos and Gloria as failures, and raised Marcos and Estrada as the best presidents ever. Why, because Marcos and Estrada took actions for the welfare of the people.

Marcos and Estrada represented the pro-people vision, and even if the elite and “civil society” defame them the people eventually see the truth. Crystallizing this truth and polarizing from the “civil society” is the paramount task now! Then genuine people power can be consolidate, even amongst the AFP. The political-economic resurgence will rise from the ideological clarification of the Filipino, moral regeneration will follow. Today, as Benjamin Disraeli said aptly: “We moralize among ruins.”
